About District Six Fire Department:
The mission of the District Six Fire Department is the protection of life, property and environment within our community. We are committed to providing fire protection, emergency medical services and public service in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
The staff at District Six trains extensively every day to ensure that we are providing the best possible service to our community.
District Six has two fire stations, one on Prescott Rd. and a sub-station on Mickens Rd. We currently have 15 full-time employees and numerous contract employees.
District 6 Fire Department is currently hiring Firefighter/Operators.
Qualifications and requirements to be considered for employment:
Civil Service testing information can be found here. There is an online testing option.
Please bring a completed application, high school diploma or valid certificate of equivalency, state issued identification, and any fire service or medical certifications to Station 51 at 7878 Prescott Rd, Baton Rouge LA 70812
After any offer of employment, but before beginning work, medical exams and required training must be completed. This will be provided by District 6 Fire Department.
